Designed in a storybook format, each Life Story Scrapbook is written with tons of thought-provoking, fill-in-the-blank questions relating to your child’s school years-kindergarten through twelfth grade. All books are 100% handcrafted by the artists using archival safe materials and packaging. Each page is enclosed in a plastic page protector and the album cover comes with a temporary plastic cover for transport. The album also comes with an archival safe pen for journaling and glue dots to adhere pictures to the decorated frames. Paying close attention to details, the artist uses a sewing machine to add a special touch to the edge of each picture frame and chapter title. No naked edges! The cover comes adorned with actual pencils and a wooden ruler.
Don’t be overwhelmed at graduation time. Each year’s chapter includes three pages of fill-in-the-blank questions and journal blocks and the fourth page contains a keepsake folder for report cards and paper projects. Each folder also displays a special decorated picture frame for that year’s school picture and a special box to journal down that year’s strengths of your special student. Tweed school year tags mounted on actual corkboard adds a special touch to the school year picture.
The first chapter of the book relates to the child’s first day of school and a picture frame and ends with a chapter devoted to decorated title blocks for the child to sign their name each year. What a fun thing to look back on at graduation! (If you’re just now discovering these scrapbooks and your child is already into the first or second grade, that’s fine - many choose to take a signature off of a piece of school work from that year and paste it onto the year’s signature title block.) Also included at the beginning of the book is a decorated frame for a childhood picture as well as a one of them at graduation.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for design of your handcrafted album. Your payment will reserve you a spot on the artist’s design calendar. The artist welcomes the opportunity to interact with you prior to beginning your album. Paper samples can also be sent to you for a $2 each, plus shipping. If you know of the album color you’d like to use but would rather the artist choose the coordinating paper colors, that can be done for you as well. Special add-on features may be extra. Should you desire a gift announcement card, the artist also offers specially embellished gift card holders to present for the book design to be done at a later date. Many choose to use the black album with deep red, green, yellow and blue papers for a boy and for a more feminine look, many choose to use the khaki colored album with sage greens, raspberry pinks, pale yellows and deeper blue papers for a little girl. Other color combinations can be used, if desired.
