Privacy Policy

We appreciate the trust you place in Briar Patch Heirlooms, and we are committed to respecting both your privacy and the security of your personal information. Our privacy policy describes the information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and when we share it with third parties. Our policy also describes the choices you can make about how we collect and use your information.

Information We Collect

We collect two main types of information.

Non-personally Identifiable Information:

When you visit our Site, we collect and aggregate information indicating such things as which pages of the Site were visited, which links you clicked within the Site and the order in which you clicked through our pages. Gathering this type of data means that we log the IP addresses, operating system and browser software used by each visitor to the Site. This information is not personally identifiable, but it may be possible to determine from an IP address a visitor’s Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of the visitor’s point of connectivity.

We also use “cookies” and other tracking technologies to collect non-personally identifiable information regarding you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies make it possible for us to recognize your browser when you visit our Site. By doing this, we can personalize your return visits and save you time during checkout. You can set your browser to not accept cookies or to notify you when you are sent a cookie. However, your browser must be set to accept cookies in order for you to enjoy the benefits of being a registered user of the Site.

Personally Identifiable Information:

We gather information of a personally identifiable nature such as name, e-mail and postal addresses, phone and credit card numbers from you when you create a personal account, place an on-line order, or participate in a contest, promotion or survey. We maintain a record of your product interests and the purchases you make with us. We may also acquire information about you from trusted third parties.

Further, where you use the Site to purchase a product or service as a gift, we will collect from you personally identifiable information regarding the gift recipient or potential gift recipient.

How We Use Collected Information

Briar Patch Heirlooms uses non-personally identifiable information, such as your IP address and the pages you visit on our Site to improve Site functionality, services and features. Your IP address and other non-personally identifiable information may also be used to gather broad demographic information and to recognize customer traffic patterns and Site usage trends. This data helps us to better develop the design and layout of the Site, as well as with merchandising.

We may share aggregated statistical data and other non-personally identifiable information with our current and potential business partners, and with our service providers.

Briar Patch Heirlooms uses personally identifiable information collected from you to complete transactions initiated by you (such as the sale and delivery of products purchased on-line). This information may be utilized to get in touch with you when necessary for such things as delivery updates, satisfaction surveys, or in-depth marketing research. Financial information (credit card numbers, expiration dates, billing address and so forth) is used to bill you for purchases made with us. We may also use your personally identifiable information to pre-populate forms that are used by the Site to facilitate transactions with us.

You may, from time to time, receive information from us regarding new features, new products and services and special offers we think you’ll enjoy.

Information We Share with Others

We work with third parties who provide services, including but not limited to website hosting, credit card clearance, e-commerce affiliation, data analysis, e-mailing and other services of an administrative nature. Personally identifiable information, including financial information, is shared with such third parties for the purpose of providing such services. We provide these companies with only the information they need to perform their services and work closely with them to ensure that your privacy is respected and protected.

Further, we may use selected reputable third parties for marketing, targeting and analysis purposes. Some of these third parties may be given access to some, or all, of the information that you provide to us and may use cookies or other tracking technologies in connection with providing their services. To the extent that we provide your personally identifiable information to such third parties, we seek to restrict their ability to use such information for their own marketing purposes; however, we cannot be responsible for the privacy policies or practices of such third parties.

From time to time, we make our mailing list (names and addresses only) and general shopping activity available to carefully screened companies whose products we believe will be of interest to you. If you prefer that we do not share any information with these companies, please follow the Opt Out procedures listed below.

Protecting Kids Privacy

Briar Patch Heirlooms is concerned about the safety of children when they use the Internet and will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.

Links to Third Party Sites

E-mails from Briar Patch Heirlooms, and the Site itself, may contain links to other Internet websites. Unless otherwise explicitly stated, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites, including such sites’ use of any information (such as IP number, browser type or operating system) collected when e-mail recipients or Site visitors click through links to those sites. If you visit such websites, we encourage you to become familiar with the privacy practices of the sites.

As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you transmit to or from our website, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we will do our best to protect its security on our systems.

We urge you to keep your password in a safe place and not to divulge it to anyone. Also remember to sign off of your account and close your browser window when you have finished your visit. This is to ensure that others cannot access your account, especially if you are sharing a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place such as a library or Internet cafe.

Federal law dictates that your legal liability is limited to $50 if your credit card number is used without your permission. If you suspect any illegal use of your card, call your issuing bank immediately to make sure your rights are protected.
