Eye Think, Inc.

Eye Think's founder, filmmaker, artist, and inventor Rufus Butler Seder, has been fascinated with antique optical toys since he was young. About twenty years ago, he wondered if he could make a new sort of moving picture using no electricity, special lighting, or moving parts. After some experiment, he developed Lifetiles, optical glass-tiled murals that appear to come to life, move, and change when the viewer walks or rides by. For the past 16 years, Rufus has been designing large-scale, permanent installations of these "movies for the wall" in aquariums, science museums, train stations, and other public places around the globe.

The worldwide success of Lifetiles inspired Rufus to develop a line of innovative optical toys based on his patented techniques. In 1999, he started Eye Think, Inc., which is the sole producer of the line of optically animated toys and gifts that are extensions of Rufus' art.

Rufus is also the principal inventor of the Rear Window™ motion picture caption system, distributed by WGBH TV's Media Access group. The caption system enables deaf and hearing-impaired movie-goers in theaters across the United States to enjoy films side-by-side with everyone else.
