Angels with Attitude
Fascinated by ideas of transformation and evolution, Stacy continues to develop her art in an admittedly unorthodox manner. In keeping with the style of American folk art traditions, she uses an odd mix of found, recycled, and new items (although only natural materials will do), most commonly working in wood, metal and stone. She can often be found wandering up and down the beaches of the North Shore, sometime in search of inspiration, but more often just looking for the right piece of glass, shell or driftwood.
Stacy creates figures that are primarily feminine in nature, but often with a strong infusion of masculine energy. She creates pieces that reflect more than just the women’s experience, but the experiences shared by all. Although many of her pieces are expressions of personal experiences and challenges, she will happily draw inspiration from both classical and contemporary mythologies.
A mother of three, (one delightful son, Maxwell; a two year old, energetic pug, Dutch; and an overly pampered pug, Sophie,) and married to her ever patient and supportive husband, Michael, Stacy remains an adamant computerphobe happy to release her visions and engaging personalities out into the world with energy, emotion, and honesty.
